Finally, the New Rajasthani Choli Pattern is Ready!

I spent an extraordinary amount of time figuring this one out. My goal is always to come up with a design that can be easily adjusted to fit a wide variety of body sizes and shapes. This pattern is diabolical in its simplicity, but it was still a challenge coming up with the right fitting guidelines and instructions. It is unlike anything else out there, and it's now available on eBay! Woohoo!

And that's not all I'm excited about. At Spirit of the Tribes, we (Khafif) will have videos, DVDs, CDs, and t-shirts, oh my!

In other news, just received a new CD by Farzad Farhangi, "Sandstorm" and it rocks. Got it from CD Baby--very fast service.

Back home, back to work

The sun finally came out in Las Vegas, but now I am back home where it's cold and snowy. Here is a view of the Bellagio from my room:

Nice day, wasn't it;-) Anyway, my ride home was nice and quiet--no drunk guy. I really really really enjoyed going to the goth night there. I regret that I wasn't able to go to some of the other club nights and get to know these people a little bit better. Their scene appears to be much smaller than Pittsburgh, and they were happy to talk to a tourist like myself. I also regret not pushing my corset biz on them a bit harder. I only gave out one card. I am inspired now to visit goth scenes in other cities. "Darkthreads"--goth ambassador of Pittsburgh. Speaking of corsets, I should be finishing up this one I am working on and get it out there. And, it's back to the grindstone with Khafif and recording &etc. Oh yeah, and back to the real job on Monday. Oddly enough, I am inspired in that area, too. I talked to a lot of consultants and other colleagues whom I see seldom, because we are a "virtual" team--spread out over the country and the world, and it is nice to now be able to associate faces with names.

SinCity, cont.

Ow. My head hurts. I really poisoned myself last night with a gruesome sequence of white wine, guiness, and martinis. So I deserve it, but I did have a good time. After doing the obligatory gathering with my colleagues at Gameworks where I showed some folks how to play nine ball, and played that Daytona race car game, I went to a goth night called "Sanctuary" at club icon off the strip and definitely off the beaten path. It was a small back room where maybe a coupla dozen goth folk gathered--but a very warm welcoming and friendly scene and the music made me feel right at home. I met some good people that I will probably never see again. I was even complimented on my dancing. I also got a chance yesterday to walk around the Venetian and that was amazing. It is definitely a must see if you are into art and opera. There is a large exhibit of artwork from the Guggenheim ($15 admission), which apparently has a strong affiliation, lots of other upscale stores, and I waited in the most enjoyable taxi cab line as the door man sang Italien standards to us.

The "statue" above was actually a live man!!

Oh yeah, and it was raining in my room this morning. Apparantly, the buildings here aren't that waterproof. The locals are saying that it has rained more this week than what they usually see all year. Can't wait to be home.

So...I'm in the City of Sin...

My flight in was somewhat nightmarish. The advantage of having a direct flight was negated by the fact that I had to sit next to DRUNK guy the whole 5 hrs, who insisted on talking to me despite my venomous looks, and making like I wanted to sleep. I finally spoke to him in such a sharp and authoritative tone that it startled him into FEAR and he left me alone for a while, but continued to talk to himself about the mean scary girl sitting next to him.

So, I have a nice room at the Flamingo...

I'm attempting to have a good time here, despite having to attend classes &etc. Already, I walked around Ceasar's forum shops--drool, drool, drool. I must have hit it just at the right time because the marble fountains in the forum suddenly became animated and put on their "show." One of them turns into a planetarium and laser show. Another one is a big production advertisement for the "Atlantis" show. And, I was entertained at the opening reception of the conference by a mime (who made me a balloon-bear and spun a plate on my finger), "bubble girl" (who was HOT), a close-up magician with a French accent (who was VERY good--made my ring disappear and reappear), and of course, Elvis himself (who was also HOT). Also walked around the Paris and the Bellagio. Fantasized about hitting the jackpot and actually being able to shop in the Valentino store (but haven't actually gambled yet).

I have been too busy to keep up with my blog lately. I am working on a corset for a customer in Portugal, of all places, I have been doing a lot of work with Khafif, my real job is keeping me busy, AND I am preparing for a business trip to Las Vegas next week. On top of that, I am working on new pattern designs, and making stuff to sell at Spirit of the Tribes. AND, I am going to see Henry Rollins tonite.
